The E-Z-GO® Legacy

The E-Z-GO® history dates back all the way to 1954 when they were just a one-room machine shop, run by two brothers whose passion lied in building a better golf cart. After successfully building better machines, they quickly gained popularity among consumers and then expanded their product lines. They included things like utility vehicles and personal transportation vehicles, all while continuing to improve their designs and provide better and better features for each model.

In 1960, E-Z-GO® joined Textron Inc., a company that’s committed to preventing and reducing pollution and creating more environmentally-friendly practices. Today, they operate under a division called Textron Specialized Vehicle, and E-Z-GO® makes tens of thousands of models each year, often featuring innovative technology. This includes things like a parking brake that engages automatically when you come to a stop. It’s one of the reasons they received the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence in 2009 and they were chosen as one of Industry Week magazine’s top ten manufacturing plants in North America.
